Monday mashup 2021 (vol 24)

Missed our deadline yesterday due to work, so up early today to post the article. We are so proud to share these new singles and music videos. Enjoy these great artists.

LA MUSIC CRITIC AWARD WINNERS HIT #1 ON THE CHARTS

Two LA Music Critic Award winners have had some recent success on the charts. Polly O’Keary and the Rhythm Method‘s new single “You Better Think” debuted at #1 on the Roots Music Report Contemporary Blues Song chart, while Brigitte Purdy‘s tune “Time to Love” hit #1 on the Roots Music Report Blues Rock Song chart. Congratulations to you both.

NEW SINGLES

Speaking of Polly O’Keary, here is the band’s new single, “You Better Think.” It is further proof that indie music is the best music.

Next up is the latest from one of our favorite LA songwriters, who has been fairly quiet for a while. John West is back and better than ever with the release of his latest tune, “Lost in Japan.” We’re just glad we found this one.

Our third single comes to us courtesy of Ue3 Promotions‘ client Chesca, and this smooth ballad should fuel your wind down time. Just sit back and “Feel the Breeze.” Check out the rest of this amazing album, which just dropped on July 30.

Next up is a stirring country/Americana ballad from one of LA’s reigning queens of the genre, Pi Jacobs. She may have a “Broken Cup,” but we will take it.

Our final single this week is a beautiful love song written by Matt Jones for his girlfriend, Lauren de Miranda. We think it is one of the best love songs we have ever heard. Give a listen to “Crazy Over You,” and we think you’ll be back for more.

NEW MUSIC VIDEOS

Our first video this week is from an artist we featured back in 2016, and we’re thrilled that she’s back. Check out Ryal’s latest, “Feathers,” and enjoy the amazing flamenco dancing of Xianix Barrera.

Next up is the latest from Lucy & La Mer. It is a gorgeous acoustic cover of the Harry Styles‘ hit, “Watermelon Sugar.” We love it.

Our third video has a classic psychedelic sound and we truly dig it. Here’s “Floating in Air” by Monet’s Pond. We have a feeling we’ll be hearing a lot more from them in the future.

Are you a fan of the Netflix series The Witcher? If you are, then you will love “In the End,” the new video from Beth Crowley. This one will make you want to re-binge the entire series again.

We’re going to send you out this week with a rocking video from rue vox. This one features Butcher Babies’ Henry Flury and Heidi Shepherd and Chris Kael of Five Finger Death Punch. Don’t be a victim of the “90’s Villain.”
